FISHING WATERS
Lake Viken is formed by a geological fault, and its area is 5000 hectares. In parts, it is very deep and maximum depth is 29 metres. It is oligotrophic (nutrient poor) and therefore water
quality is excellent. Viken has many islands that are suitable for landing. However, some of them are protected because the fish eagle, osprey is breeding there. Also you can see and hear
loon, heron, bittern, cranes and many other bird species on your fishing trip.

FISH SPECIES
Pike, perch and pikeperch are our most commonly caught fish species. Viken is well known for its large sized pike and perch. For those who are interested in angling, there are rich quantities of bream and tench. Other species in the lake are roach, asp,
zope, chub, ide, rudd, bleak, ruffe, burbot and eel.

Within our grounds we also have a smaller lake with trout where fly fishing can be done.

FISHING SEASON
Fishing is possible throughout the year. Pike-fishing is best in spring and autumn; perch- and pikeperch-fishing is best in summer. Braxmaviken also has its own water for crayfishing which is done in August.

FISHING METHODS
Spinning and trolling are the most common methods for pike, pikeperch and perch. Fishing is done best from aboat. Angling is suitable for tench, bream and other cyprinids. When the lakes freeze over in winter jigging for perch is good and ice-angling for pike.
Crayfishing is done with traps in connnection with booked events.

FISHING RULES
Fishing licence is demanded for fishing. The fishing host provides fishing licence and informs on actual rules. All unharmed fish that is not consumed during the stay shall be released.
FISHING GUIDE
A fishing guide who knows lake Viken well can be engaged.

BOATS AND FISHING EQUIPMENT
Our boats can be rented with or without motor. Life jackets, depth chart and fishing licence is included in therent. Fishing sonar can also be rented separately.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
On the farm there are stables and horse meadows. We sell dog food, wood, moose meat and frozen crayfish. Hunting events for moose, roe deer and beaver according to season can be arranged. Interesting attractions in the surrroundings are the fortress Karlsborg, Tiveden National Park, Göta Canal and Forsvik industrial heritage site. Closeby there is also golf courts, and possibilities to parachuting, bicycling and canoeing.
